SSA3000X Series Spectrum Analyzer

This Spectrum Analyzer came in last week. Looking forward to now actually seeing what these LPFs and Amplifiers are doing.

RF is invisible, ya know!

Now I can finally run through some TLT and biasing experiments I have had in my head for a long time now. No sense experimenting if you really can’t see the results!

Just as an initial test, here it is sweeping a single-band 40m LPF I made about a year ago. Never quite knew for sure how it behaved…

  • All-Digital IF Technology
  • Frequency Range from 9 kHz to 2.1/3.2 GHz
  • -161 dBm/Hz Displayed Average Noise Level (Typ.)
  • -98 dBc/Hz @10 kHz Offset Phase Noise (1 GHz, Typ.)
  • Total Amplitude Accuracy < 0.7 dB
  • 1 Hz Minimum Resolution Bandwidth (RBW)

Planning to have some fun with this one!

Rob, I just got a 21X a couple of weeks ago after my trusty Tektronix from the 80`s finally bit the dust and just not worth the effort to try to fix it…I Love the Siglent..What a great piece for the money !

Totally agree. Bringing high end engineering equipment within range of the common man!

I have the same SA. Quite an amazing instrument for the price.

It’s pretty good! I sometimes wonder though if these little really cheap SDR receiver type SAs would give us basically the same results. Oh well, too late now (for me).

Good SA for the money. Only issue I’ve had is the minimum 30 kHz RBW when using the tracking generator. And there can be noticeable amplitude ripple within that bandwidth.
